Job Overview
The Women’s Head Soccer Coach is responsible for the planning, development, administration, and oversight of the College Soccer program; with primary focus on teaching, instructing and tutoring student athletes the rules and fundamentals of the sport of soccer. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Coach conducts practices and clinics, and determines the number, duration and content of those practices and clinics that is in the best interests of College.
  • Coach will teach, tutor and instruct team members on the rules and fundamentals of the sport.
  • Offers instruction and coaching to advance the performance of each athlete.
  • Coach supervises and coaches the team on all travel of the home and away events.
  • Develops, supervises and conducts the recruiting program for College’s soccer program.
  • Responsible for supervising team members at all times during practices, games, and other times as directed.
  • The Coach will develop a fund raising program.
  • Ensures compliance with NJCAA; policies and procedures of Lackawanna College and their Athletic program.
  • Promotes the well-being of student-athletes.
  • All other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
  • Current certification in American Red Cross CPR / First Aid.
  • Trained in use of Automatic Electrodes Defibrillator (AED).
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and protocol.
  • Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
  • Commitment to fulfillment of the College mission.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
