QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three years’ successful experience as assistant coach.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid Tennessee teaching certificate.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Promotes the program in both the school and the community and serves as the spokesperson in the area of public relations.
- Works cooperatively with school staff, student-athletes, and parents in promoting the program.
- Works cooperatively with coaches of other sports to ensure the overall success of Tennessee High Athletics.
- Develops, with the athletic director, a budget for the program.
- Represents Tennessee High at all meetings that pertain to the program.
- Assist the athletic director in maintaining eligibility records with the TSSAA.
- Oversees and assigns specific duties for assistant coaches.
- Evaluates and formulates an improvement plan for all assistant coaches.
- Maintains and oversees the safety conditions of all dressing rooms, facilities, and equipment used by the program.
- Serves as liaison between the program and the Viking Booster Club.
- Assists the athletic director in planning and organizing the THS All-Sports Banquet.
- Oversees and coordinates the Tennessee Middle School program.
