Job Overview
This position will manage all aspects of the NCAA Division I Softball program in alignment with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big West Conference, and the mission of the University. This includes the recruitment and development of student-athletes, competitive success, academic achievement, and fostering a positive team culture that supports the holistic growth of each student-athlete.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct all aspects of team practices, competitions, and skill development. Develop game strategies and provide direct coaching to ensure competitive success in a Division I environment.
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes who align with the academic and athletic standards of the university. Support student-athletes' personal, academic, and athletic growth.
- Oversee program operations, including team travel, scheduling, and budget management. Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and university policies and procedures.
- Promote academic success by supporting student-athletes in maintaining eligibility, meeting academic goals, and engaging in university support services.
- Hire, supervise, and mentor assistant coaches and support staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable coaching environment.
- Represent the program at university, community, and fundraising events. Build relationships with alumni, donors, and fans to support program development.
- Effectively perform coaching and other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education and a minimum of three years of related experience required.
- Collegiate coaching or equivalent experience in softball. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse population.
