Job Overview
The Head Swim Team Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the swim team to include management of other Coaches and current swim technology, communication to members of the swim team and their parents / guardians, execution of all practices and meets. This is a stipend part time seasonal position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to demonstrate proper swim techniques to participants from in the water and on deck.
- Provide instruction for assistant swim team coaches and swimmers during practices and meets as needed.
- Execute safe and organized swim team practices and competitions.
- Assist in programming and operating the timing system.
- Conduct parents meeting, communicate with parents/guardians on how their swimmer can succeed on the swim team and answer their questions throughout the season.
- Supervise July 4th Parade community event.
- Assist in organizing end-of-season party.
- Prevent accidents through the enforcements of agency policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of persons using the swimming facilities.
- Know, enforce, and follow all pool rules and policies. Be consistent and polite in your enforcement.
- Thoroughly complete all incidents and accident reports.
- Two years of swim team experience.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- CPR/AED required.
- Must have own transportation to travel to and from swim team away competition.
