Job Overview
The head volleyball coach is responsible for the organization and implementation of a successful volleyball program. Develop a competitive program that is committed to the creation of student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academics, strong fundamental skills and sportsmanship. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preferred Coaching Experience.
  • Must have knowledge of the technical aspects of a varsity program.
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below.
  • Positive public relations skills.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate total development and promotion of the program.
  • Promotes all athletes to participate in sports and activities throughout the school year.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
  • Adjust coaching techniques, based on the ability of athletes.
  • Arrange and conduct program-specific activities, such as summer training, skills-improvement sessions, and pre-season try-outs.
  • Instruct athletes in rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
  • Provide training, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for competition.
  • Hire, supervise, and train assistant coaches.
  • Develop and arrange competition schedules and programs with the approval of the Athletic Director.
  • Generate additional funds for the support of the program through approved fundraisers.
  • Inventory and issue Athletic Equipment.
  • Professionally communicate with the media.
  • Carefully operate under state/league/school rules and regulations.
