Work Tasks:
- Provides leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes at Christopher Newport University.
- Directs and provides the planning, organizing and coaching for the Christopher Newport University women’s golf team.
- Encourages, fosters and directly supports student-athlete academic success in the classroom.
- Design strategies and analyze performance of the women’s golf teams and adjust strategies as needed.
- Establishes schedules that will promote success at the national level.
- Counsels team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; consults with University administration for resolution of problems as required.
- Oversees all financial aspects of the women’s golf program including budget development and management.
- Assists the Assistant Director of Athletics for Administration and the Director of Golf with the daily operations of the CNU Golf Center.
- Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletics Association rules and regulations.
- Skill in training or instructing student-athletes; excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions.
- Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours.
- Ability to manage people and projects.
