Clyde-Savannah Central School District is looking for a JV Softball coach who is interested in furthering the district mission of educating, inspiring, and empowering our learners to unlock their potential in order to meet the challenges in an ever-changing world. This qualified individual will be able to maintain good public relations with students, parents, community, and media.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities initially and regularly.
- Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions that promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to and keep abreast of rules and regulations set forth by the NYSPHSAA.
- Monitor and enforce student academic eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
- Work with the athletic director on scheduling competitions and coordinating arrangements.
- Cooperate with other members of the school staff in planning and implementing instructional goals and objectives for the overall educational development of student-athletes.
- Assist in the selection of equipment and instructional materials.
- Assume responsibility for compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and the local board.
- New York State Coaching Certification/CPR, AED, First Aid.
- Experience in coaching.
- Valid driver’s license.
- DASA and Fingerprint Clearance required.
