Job Overview
Responsibilities:
- Teach Physical Education and Health to Middle School students
- Collaborate with department members on curriculum refinement and implementation;
- Design and implement rigorous assessments that evaluate student mastery of academic standards;
- Create a safe learning environment for all students by implementing Excels strategies and best practices with consistency;
- Provide coverage as needed during non-instructional time;
- Serve as a productive member of the Excel Academy community;
- Manage and Support non-competitive athletic programming to support student development and physical activity before and/or after school; and
- Do whatever it takes to ensure the mission of the school is upheld.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred;
- License or certification not required prior to start date:

- A minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred, but not required.
