Job Overview
Classroom teachers are expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. The Physical Education teacher provides leadership, coordination, and supervision of the physical education program in a manner that ensures high quality and effective academic and enrichment programs.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Develop and instruct enrichment activities for students including short-term and long-term plans for the PE program.
- Develop physical endurance activities appropriate for each age group in PE.
- Provide documented lesson plans for PE with exposure to multiple sports/physical disciplines.
- Monitor students’ PE progress and needs as appropriate.
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
- Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques, strategies, and media, consistent with capabilities of the individuals or student group involved.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Zero (0) years of teaching experience.
- Minimum of T4-Certification in Health & Physical Education (P-12).
- Passed the GACE Health and Physical Education Assessment AND the GACE Program Admission Assessment.
- Have reciprocity eligibility.
