Education/Certification:
- Hold appropriate valid Illinois State Licensure.
- Hold appropriate degree from a recognized college or university.
- Certification to practice in Illinois as evidenced by current licensure as a physical therapist.
- Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and legal standards in alignment with licensure and best practices.
- Lead and manage the district’s physical therapy program, including its vision, procedures, and annual goals.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized tools, observations, and relevant educational and medical records.
- Interpret assessment results and communicate findings clearly and compassionately to parents, educators, and team members.
- Collaborate with IEP and 504 teams to develop individualized support plans that address students’ physical needs.
- Design and implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, access, and participation in school activities.
- Develop individualized physical management plans and train staff on safe and effective implementation.
- Support transitions from school to community settings by promoting student independence and adjusting services accordingly.
- Monitor student progress regularly and adjust therapy plans as needed to meet changing needs.
- Maintain open communication with school teams, families, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
