Job Overview
The Head Coach for Men’s Golf is responsible for leading all facets of a competitive NCAA Division I golf program in alignment with the mission and values of the University, the American Athletic Conference, and the NCAA. This individual will serve as a mentor, educator, and role model, fostering a championship culture focused on academic achievement, athletic excellence, and personal growth.
Essential Functions:
- Provide visionary leadership and coaching for the men’s golf program to ensure competitive success and holistic development of student-athletes.
- Plan, organize, and supervise all practice sessions, competitions, and team-related activities.
- Recruit and retain talented student-athletes who embody the academic and athletic standards of the University.
- Foster strong working relationships with athletic performance, athletic training, academic support, and student services staff to support student-athlete well-being and success.
- Manage the program’s budget in accordance with University and department guidelines, demonstrating responsible and strategic fiscal oversight.
- Coordinate administrative operations, including scheduling, travel, equipment, compliance, and public relations.
- Organize and participate in community outreach and campus engagement initiatives that enhance the visibility and reputation of the program.
- Collaborate with the Offices of Admissions and International Admissions to support the recruitment and enrollment process for prospective student-athletes.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring NCAA eligibility and advancement toward graduation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One year collegiate coaching and/or playing experience in the sport of golf.
