ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Supporting student academic expectations, responsibilities, and achievements.
2. Developing the knowledge and understanding of Waverly’s policies and procedures as it applies to athletics.
3. Promoting and enforcing the student-athlete code of conduct.
4. Connecting athletic experiences with life experiences.
5. Providing an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among coaches and players
6. Knowledge of MHSAA rules and regulations.
7. Becoming an integral part of and developing rapport with the Waverly community including administration, coaches, parents, and students.
8. Modeling good sportsmanship always.
9. Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for student athletes.
10. Understanding their leadership style and its impact on student-athletes.
11. Game and practice attire should be professional and appropriate.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Playing experience at the high school or college level and/or coaching experience required.
3. Proof of current First Aid and CPR certifications prior to the first day of coaching.
4. Must provide certificate of completion for online concussion training course from either the Centers for Disease Control or the National Federation of State High School Associations prior to the first day of coaching.
