As the Head Coach, you will deliver measurable results in developing, enhancing and promoting an athletic program that will be distinguished by the teams’ display of integrity, citizenship, character, work ethic, and their ability to overcome adversity. To instruct students in appropriate methods to be respectful of themselves, their opponents, and officials regardless of the outcome of their event.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervises the student athletes in his/her program
2. Through proper preparation and planning, students are appropriately ready for competition
3. Supervises/manages off season programs to help players enhance their abilities
4. Serves as a role model for students
5. Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
6. Assesses player’s skills and assigns team positions.
7. Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
8. Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competition.
9. Assigns duties to an assistant coach as necessary.
10. Coaches and instructs players, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
11. Observes players, during competition and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement.
12. Determines game strategy based on the team’s capabilities.
13. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of athletes at all times.
14. Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met.
15. Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
