High Point University is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Assistant Coach for Men’s Lacrosse. HPU is a NCAA Division I program and member of the SoCon. This position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of coaching and administration of the HPU Men’s lacrosse program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. Proficient in the technical knowledge of lacrosse.
3. Capability to instruct student-athletes and increase their athletic performance.
4. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Instructs student-athletes, imporving skill, sport performance and leadership.
2. Assists Head Coach in coaching student-athletes.
3. Counsels team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; assists in monitoring the academic progress and eligibility status of student-athletes.
4. Evaluates, recruits and recommends prospective student-athletes.
5. Monitors the conditioning and training of student-athletes.
6. Participates in analysis of past performance, opponent’s performance, designing game plans/strategies, etc.
7. Supervises travel arrangements for team, including housing, transportation and meal arrangements for all players, coaches and staff.
8. Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students’ parents, faculty, co-workers and managers.
9. Other duties as assigned.
