Job Overview

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports the mission of Sailfish Athletics to be a premier Christian program competing at the highest level while preparing students to be lifelong leaders and outstanding citizens in their communities.
  2. Assists the Head Coach in the coordination of a competitive Division II program.
  3. Supports the head coach with identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes who maintain the standards of the university and department.
  4. In partnership with the Head Coach, assists with instructing, teaching and coaching during practice and competition.
  5. Assists with scheduling practices, games, transportation/accommodations, and travel itineraries for road games with the approval of the Athletic Director and in coordination with the Head Coach and the Assistant to the Athletic Director.
  6. Mentors student-athletes in their personal and spiritual growth, encouraging a balance of academic, athletic, and faith development.
  7. Fosters a team culture of self-discipline, respect, and teamwork, while encouraging each student-athlete to thrive in their university experience.
  8. Assists with a wide variety of administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach.
  9. Represents the University at SSC and national meetings as assigned.
