The Elementary PE Teacher is responsible for delivering physical education instruction that supports the mission and values of Catholic education. The teacher will implement a developmentally appropriate, skills-based physical education curriculum that promotes physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and overall wellness for students in PreK–4th grade. 

Essential Duties:

1. Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
2. Acts as a witness to the Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
3. Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.
4. Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
5. Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
6. Plan and deliver a developmentally appropriate, skills-based PE curriculum that encourages physical competence, active living, and positive social interactions.
7. Provide engaging and age-appropriate physical activities aligned to state and diocesan standards.
8. Ensure supervision and safety of students at all times during physical activities, both indoors and outdoors.
9. Maintain gymnasium and all PE equipment in good, safe, and organized condition.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church and a commitment to Catholic education.
2. Understanding of child development, physical education standards, and differentiated instruction.
3. Familiarity with physical literacy principles and developmentally appropriate movement skills.
4. Ability to manage student behavior effectively in individual and group settings.
5. Proficiency in using instructional technology and educational tools.
6. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for physical activity.
8. Demonstrated professionalism in demeanor, conduct, and work habits.
