The Elementary Physical Education Teacher will specifically work with students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade (K-3). This role requires tailoring physical education instruction to the developmental and motor skill levels appropriate for early elementary students.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement physical education lessons that are age-appropriate for K-3 students, focusing on fundamental motor skills, basic movement patterns, and introductory sportsmanship concepts.
2. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages physical activity, cooperation, and social-emotional growth among young learners.
3. Use a variety of instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities typical of early elementary students.
4. Monitor and assess student progress using developmentally appropriate criteria and provide feedback to support growth in physical skills and healthy habits.
5. Ensure safety during all physical activities and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all students, including those with special needs.
6. Collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to support the overall development of K-3 students.

Qualifications:

1. Must hold or be eligible to obtain a North Carolina teaching license in Physical Education (K-12), with a focus on early elementary education preferred.
2. Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children in grades K-3.
3. Strong communication and classroom management skills tailored to young learners.
