Job Overview
Responsibilities:
- Confers with person(s) most closely associated with the active management of the patient care and keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatments, modifications and/or progress.
- Implements proper techniques to assist and handle patients, and the ability to handle tools and machines of the profession.
- Coordinates with staff for patient scheduling and implementing physical therapy services.
- Performs housekeeping duties by routine and periodic cleaning to maintain cleanliness and infection control.
- Evaluates assigned patients referred to physical therapy or other offered services by the department.
- Interprets and carries out the prescription of the physician.
- Maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department/facility.
- Provides and advocates age and culturally appropriate, holistic patient care based upon facility mission statements and as outlined in policies and procedures.
- Performs research and conducts presentations as required.
- Assist managers and/or supervisors identifying staffing needs and recruitment.
- Proposes new ideas to improve offerings, processes and procedures.

- Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations such as The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques.
- Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management.
