Job Overview
As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize various exercises to help patients increase strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination. Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families. Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important. Ultimately, your unconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret plans and supervise patient treatments, ensuring the care, safety and well-being of the patient.
- Review and evaluate patient response or lack thereof to treatment and make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.
- Provide appropriate documentation for each patient visit.
- Maintain all equipment and apparatus.
- Maintain the order and cleanliness of the department.
- Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit.
- Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or certificate.
- Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degree.
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Internship experience.
