Job Overview
The head wrestling coach at Oak Ridge High school is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive wrestling program, overseeing the athletes’ training and competition, and ensuring adherence to school and TSSAA regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize effectice practice schedules and training plans tailored to enhance technical skills and physical conditioning.
- Develop and implement competitive strategies to prepare the teamfor dual meets, tournaments, and championships.
- Oversee all aspects of the team's participation in competitions ensuring smooth operations and adherence to schedules.
- Manage the program budget as prescribed by the athletic director including equipment purchases, travel expenses, and other related costs.
- Create and execute fundraising opportunities to assist in financing the program.
- Maintain open and professional communication with athletes, parents, school staff, and school administrators.
- Foster a positive, safe, and motivating environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and athlete well-being.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability ot manage budgets and fundraising activities.
- Commitment to athlete development and safety.
