Located in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Hathaway Brown School is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the Varsity B Head Tennis Coach position. The successful candidate is available for after-school practices and games (3:30 - 5:30pm), Monday-Friday, as well as afternoon and evening games (Weekend scrimmages, matches and practices are to be expected as well).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead a program of excellence for athletes and additional coaching staff.
2. Work in a professional manner with all members of the coaching staff.
3. Provide all updated OHSAA required coaching certifications.
4. Abide by all OHSAA Rules, Bylaws and Regulations.
5. Maintaining vertical integration for athlete training and coach development.
6. Attend all practices, games, team events & award events.
7. Exemplify the Blazer Covenant in all actions taken while representing HB.
8. Attend annual coaches' meetings and seasonal OHSAA parent/student meeting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge of skills and strategies of the sport.
2. Must be able to motivate and inspire players.
3. Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages high effort, integrity and sportsmanship
4. Previous coaching experience with a noted track record of success is a bonus.
5. Demonstrate a positive attitude at all times
6. Display a commitment to continued learning and improvement
7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
8. Willingness to complete the OHSAA coaching certification.
9. Other certifications may include but are not limited to: Fundamentals of Coaching, CPR, First Aid training, Concussions in Sports, Lindsay’s Law (Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training), and Pupil Activity Permit.
