Job Overview
Reporting to the Head Coach of Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, the Assistant Coach will be primarily responsible for all aspects of the competitive NCAA Division III cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field programs. In this role, supporting and assisting the teams in all areas are key to developing competitive and successful programs in support of the College’s scholar-athlete approach to collegiate athletics. This position is full-time, benefits eligible for 10 months each year.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with sport skill instruction, motivation, and conduct of practice sessions
- Assisting with meet plan development
- Assisting with meet day execution, management, instruction, and evaluation
- Recruiting scholar-athletes to Bryn Mawr College. Working with Head Coach and Admissions Office on identifying prospective scholar-athletes.
- Demonstrating a sincere interest in social, emotional, academic development, professional and personal development, as well as the athletic welfare of scholar-athletes.
- Exhibiting leadership and professional behavior in dealing with scholar-athletes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Candidates will have 1-3 years of coaching experience, and collegiate competing experience is preferred. Candidates need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills as well as the ability to balance multiple projects at the same time. Must have technical and tactical knowledge of cross country and/or track and field.
- The ideal candidate will also have experience in leadership roles or as an interim Head Coach.
