Essential Functions:

1. Responsible for coaching all levels of Wrestling.
2. Direct and coordinate the planning, organizing and coaching of the Wrestling program.
3. Furthermore, overseeing lower-level coaches and their responsibilities.
4. Provide a positive environment for student-athletes to excel in.
5. Ensure that all coaches hired for the program complete the proper hiring paperwork/certifications and fingerprinting prior to contact with the athletes.
6. Attend and coordinate annual evaluations, in writing, of all assistant coaches and discuss with AD and administration.
7. Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes.
8. Direct and coordinate the activities of the program’s staff in the planning, organizing and coaching of the Santa Margarita Catholic High School (“SMCHS”) team and ensure staff follows league and CIF policies and regulations.
9. Direct the program’s staff in the preparation of analysis of opponent teams; analyze match statistics and tactical data of opponents and prepare meet plans accordingly.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to pass all pertinent SMCHS qualifications and Diocesan requirements.
2. Ability to drive large passenger vans.
3. Availability for the duration of the season. Commitment for an entire season.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to student development.
5. Strong work ethic and commitment to student-athletes.
6. Playing and/or coaching experience.
7. Previous experience working with students in a team or sport setting.
