ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with on-the-green coaching and individual player development.
2. Assist with coaching junior varsity and varsity during practice and competitions.
3. Assist with identification, recruitment, and retention of student-athletes.
4. Assist in all areas of team development, including in-season and out-of-season activities as allowed by Millikin, CCIW, and NCAA.
5. Assist in the day-to-day operation, including but not limited to, video editing, travel and equipment.
6. Assist in promoting the golf program through social media and game-day events.
7. Ensure a commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
8. Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
9. Manage equipment usage.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Golf.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Golf coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level.
3. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective and excellent leadership, motivational, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
4. Physical ability to complete typical coaching duties, including ability to lift and move athletic equipment.
5. Proven ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes.
6. Proven ability to teach and implement current techniques and strategies of the sport.
7. Understanding and appreciation of NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations.
8. Commitment to the goals and objective of Millikin University and CCIW.
9. Ability to work within and contribute to the team effort of the Millikin University Athletic Department.
10. A valid driver’s license is required.
