Job Overview

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading Everett Community College's intercollegiate baseball program. This position recruits and develops student-athletes who demonstrate academic achievement, competitive excellence, and personal integrity. The Head Baseball Coach promotes a strong team culture, maintains high standards of conduct, and supports the College in providing student-athletes with a quality educational and athletic experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the assigned intercollegiate athletics program, including training, practice, skill development, competition strategy, and in-game coaching.
  2. Uphold team standards that promote discipline, accountability, and competitive success.
  3. Provide guidance and mentorship to support player development and team performance.
  4. Recruit and retain student-athletes who meet program expectations for academic readiness, athletic potential, and personal conduct.
  5. Oversee the work of assistant coaches and staff to ensure alignment with program goals and College expectations.
  6. Set and communicate clear expectations related to preparation, participation, and sportsmanship.
  7. Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and refer them to relevant campus resources such as advising, tutoring, and financial aid.
  8. Encourage strong study habits, time management, and personal accountability.

Qualifications:

  1. Two years of experience coaching competitive athletics at the high school, club, or collegiate level, or equivalent experience.
  2. Valid Washington State Driver's License held for at least one year.
  3. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
