Vance County High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Baseball Coach to support the head coach in leading the baseball program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, skill development drills, and game strategies.
2. Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, promoting leadership and discipline.
3. Support game-day preparations, including lineup management, warm-ups, and in-game decision-making.
4. Assist in monitoring academic progress and eligibility of players.
5. Promote a positive and respectful team culture aligned with Viper Nation values.
6. Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes by adhering to school, district, and NCHSAA policies.
7. Assist with equipment management, field maintenance, and team logistics.
8. Support off-season training programs, conditioning, and player development.
9. Represent Vance County High School in a professional and positive manner.

Qualifications:

1. Previous coaching or playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or competitive level preferred.
2. Strong understanding of baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
3. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, administration, and student-athletes.
5. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
6. Must pass a background check as required by Vance County Schools.
