Job Overview
The Graduate Sports Performance Coach assesses, motivates, educates, and trains athletes with the primary goal of improving sport performance and overall health and well-being. Reporting to the Head Sports Performance Coach, the Graduate Sports Performance Coach assists and independently oversees sport-specific testing sessions, designs and implements safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs, and guides athletes in wellness and injury prevention for assigned teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the strength & conditioning programming for 2-3 varsity teams.
- Assist the strength and conditioning staff in the training of all MHC student-athletes.
- Assist in daily administrative and maintenance duties.
- Conduct and assist in all phases of strength training, conditioning sessions, and testing.
- Participate in weekly assignments and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Must have NSCA-CSCS or other nationally recognized certification.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate degree program for kinesiology, exercise science, or related field.
- Certified CPR/AED.
- Previous experience in a collegiate weight room.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and initiative.
- The maximum amount to be paid out for this position is $5000 @ $20/hr.
