PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coaches and motivates, with enthusiasm, individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
- Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
- Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms, as appropriate.
- Works closely with the Athletic Director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
- Ascertains that all students have had a physical examination and have returned a signed parental permission slip and any other required forms (i.e. weight certification and emergency information forms).
- Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted and reports unsafe conditions to the Athletic Director immediately.
- Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in the sport and administers the school award program with equity.
- Displays and enforces disciplined and sportsman-like behavior at all times.
- Promotes good school and community image through good relationships with the press, parents, students and citizens, keeping in mind the welfare of the participants at all times.
- Assists student toward college placement.
- Administers a well-articulated program in skill development, program development, and coordinated team play through pre-season planning, conditioning, scrimmage and game plan.
- Attends clinics and seminars and participates in professional organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certification.
- Current employment as a teacher or a substitute teacher in the State New of Jersey preferred.
- Demonstrated qualifications, experience, interest in and aptitude for performing the responsibilities.
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to pass the criminal history review and S414.
