Job Overview
The Hun School of Princeton seeks a dynamic and creative Assistant Varsity Boys’ Soccer Coach who reports to the Head Boys’ Varsity Soccer Coach and Co-Directors of Athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Assistant Varsity Boys’ Soccer Coach grades 9-12; Official season is from the end of August through early November including a preseason
- Assist the Varsity Boys’ Soccer coach in all aspects of the Boys’ Soccer program including, but not limited to:
- Developing training programs that include monitoring practices and skill development;
- Instruction and demonstration of skill sets and techniques necessary for development and athletic achievement in the sport of soccer;
- Supervision of the proper use of equipment and inventory including uniforms. This includes general upkeep of equipment and timely communication with the Co-Directors;
- Performing support tasks as needed by the Head Coach or athletic department including attendance or other related records.
- Ensuring a positive environment aligned with our school’s mission;
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with co directors, families, and other necessary stakeholders;
- Promoting the program within the school and in the community to support the admissions process;
- Assisting players who are interested in the college recruiting process.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred;
- A minimum of 2-5 years coaching experience; at a High School or college is preferred;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members;
- Ability to foster a positive team spirit as well as individual skill improvement;
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that includes some nights and weekend;
- First Aid and CPR training - or have the ability to be trained;
- A love for working with young people and a commitment to a diverse and inclusive
- community.
