MHS is currently seeking a Middle School Swimming Head Coach for Winter 2025-2026. Qualified applicants should exhibit a commitment to high achievement and support for all students in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. This is a one-year ancillary position and the season runs November to February with practices Monday through Friday from 3pm-5:30pm or 4pm-6pm. Meets are held weekday evenings. Off season work is flexible and necessary for this position.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Driver’s license required.
3. Has at least 1 year of successful coaching experience or experience playing at the collegiate level.
4. Demonstrates knowledge of current coaching techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport.
5. Must have the ability to teach beginner skills while also developing various skill level athletes in a positive and professional manner.
6. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse youth. Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds preferred.
7. Demonstrated skills in providing safe, structured skill development practice and playing experiences, while also developing high character student athletes.
8. Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
9. Strong organizational and planning skills are required.
10. Must demonstrate and uphold high ethical standards, serving as a role model and demonstrating a commitment to student engagement.
11. Must be willing to actively engage with students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
