Job Overview
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
- Attends all required departmental & league meetings.
- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by coaching staff.
- Act in a manner consistent with the Catholic philosophy of the school when dealing with players, coaches, officials, parents and other spectators.
- Expect and enforce this type of behavior from athletes.
- Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling, securing transportation and providing required materials for tournament play. Assist in providing transportation to/from events.
- Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.
- Consistently checks Final Forms (daily) for current physicals of student athletes and ensures all paperwork is electronically signed by parents and student athletes.
- Provides the Player Packet (Expectations/Rules, Uniform Agreement, Participation Fee, Calendar, etc) to the Athletic Director.
- A final roster of team members for state eligibility requirements and athletic department use to be submitted through Final Forms within one week from season start date/tryouts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, sports management, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a high school coach, with head coaching experience (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
