RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Organizes, in conjunction with the head coach, all aspects of the program, including facility, meet, practice and operational issues.
2. Serves as recruiter for the sport of track & field and cross country, identifying and evaluating potential students with that interest and organizing their recruitment in conjunction with the Office of Admissions.
3. Works closely with the promotional and fundraising efforts of the athletics department.
4. Projects and promotes an inclusive education with the highest standards, where student-athletes are empowered to leave lives of personal significance and professional success as global citizens.
5. Acts as an ambassador of the College and conducts oneself in a positive manner to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.
6. Operates within the mission of the College and athletics department to ensure a full NCAA DII student-athlete experience.
7. Acts as a visible person to represent the College in a positive manner and to heighten the awareness of the institution to all of its constituents.
8. Assists in all phases of coaching for designated sport’s team.
9. Scouts and evaluates potential recruits.

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES:

1. Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, business or related field preferred.
2. Must have demonstrated ability to recruit prospective student-athletes.
3. Prior NCAA DII Track & Field/Cross Country playing or coaching experience preferred.
4. Must have strong team-building and management skills.
5. Growth and “doer” mindset and institutional teamwork ethic.
6. Creative, strategic, thoughtful, and has a sense of humor.
7. Must have ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner.
8. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
9. Ability to supervise respective staff, as well as understand the student-athletes' commitment to academics, is a must.
