Job Overview
The head coach is responsible for creating an environment that reflects the values and goals of the Heschel Athletics Department. The head coach is also responsible for organizing the team in such a way that, one, maximizes the educational and athletic potential of all student-athletes and, two, allows students to develop an appreciation of the sport.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates' or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must be First-Aid-CPR-AED Certified.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate flexibility, patience, and the ability to meet the needs of the student-athletes regardless of experience.
- Build a program based on strong core values, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Collaborate with coaches to organize and plan thoughtful practices well in advance; execute and reflect on the session afterward.
- Organizes and directs individual and small-group practice activities safely and progressively that ensures growth and understanding of the game.
- Assesses and manages players’ behavior, keeping the athletic director informed of their athletic performance and any concerns.
