Job Goal:

To assist the head coach in the selection, instruction, training, and conditioning of all athletes/teams assigned to him/her by the head coach. Northfield Schools, the Principal and Athletics Director place an expectation not only on the skills, abilities, and commitments of its coaches but also on their integrity and collective common sense in performing their duties.

Responsibilities:

1. To demonstrate and generate among your staff and players an attitude of good sportsmanship and fair play by adhering to the Coach's Code of Ethics.
2. To know and administer the policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth in the Coaches' Handbook, Conference, and MSHSL policies for your sport.
3. To carry out responsibilities as designated by the head coach.
4. To provide for the health, safety, and well-being of team members.
5. To actively work to create a culture free from hazing and initiations.
6. To adhere to the starting and ending dates for your sport.
7. To be aware of all MSHSL rules that would pertain to you and your sport.

Qualifications: 

1. Candidate will have competed or coached the sport activity at the High School and/or college level.
2. Candidate will complete all Northfield and MSHSL Professional Development requirements.
