Job Overview
Overtime Elite (OTE) is seeking a Sport Scientist and Performance assistant who implements a professional, process driven, evidence based approach to developing general and game specific fitness for players. This role is responsible for assisting programs that contribute to assessing, monitoring and developing basketball fitness development. This role is responsible for driving best practice regarding training for the sport of basketball in ways that reduce the risk of injury and contribute to performance enhancement. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) graduate or of a sport science, exercise physiology or similar degree.
  • Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification from National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
  • Experience using AMS & other software (Smartabase, Kinexon, VALD, Hawkins, Gymaware).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an athletic high performance environment.
  • Ability to use sports technology and interpret, visualize and report on various data sets.
  • Ability to create training plans within a LTAD framework.
  • Programming/Reporting skills (R, Python, Matlab, Excel, Tableau).
  • Teach movement fundamentals.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and by the required deadline.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with colleagues, sport coaches and players
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Work to develop and oversee the implementation of a fitness development for OTE players. The program will be a comprehensive, holistic development tool to optimize the athletic development of young elite basketball players, and will include the use of sports technology, strength and conditioning, nutrition and recovery.
  • Collect, analyze, and create reports using data both from the performance space and basketball court to inform stakeholders of plans, progress, and concerns of players and teams.
  • Collaborate with the OTE health and performance team to drive performance and sports science issues forward at OTE.
  • This role reports to the Director of HPD and Head Performance Coach. Candidates must be available to travel, including possible international travel.
