Job Overview
Under general supervision, the Strength and Conditioning Coach works in collaboration with members of the Parks and Recreation Department to establish and maintain strength and conditioning programs for all active lifestyles, and to design and implement operating plans, and policies and procedures for the betterment of the community at all age levels. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
  • Works in cooperation with the Physical Therapist and Strength and Fitness team to prevent injuries and recover from injuries.
  • Provides input on the supervision and oversight of the department’s weight room facilities.
  • Designs and implements strength training and conditioning programs.
  • Designs and implements policies and procedures for strength and conditioning in accordance with national standards.
  • Develops systems for tracking member progress.
  • Provides insight and recommendation of equipment purchases and replacement plans.
  • Provides input to determine and reinforce expectations for conduct, age limits and 24-hour access.
  • Provides input for the annual evaluations of departmental personnel.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
  • A current relevant professional certification credited by an independent accreditation agency, or ability to obtain within 1 year after hire.
  • Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid.
