Job Overview

Job Goal: To develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive athletic program that promotes student-athlete development, academic success, and school spirit. Ensure the program aligns with the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives while fostering a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment for all participants. Duties:

• Administers Athletic Programs for Midfield City Schools
• Submits all required forms and paperwork to the Alabama High School Athletic Association by the due date.
• Purchase needed uniforms and equipment for all teams.
• Coordinate workers for athletic events.
• Ensures that restrooms and other facilities are clean and in good repair (report as needed to the maintenance department).
• Ensures that receipts for athletic events are handled in a prescribed manner (working with principal and local schools bookkeeper).
• Schedule and pay Officials for all games.
• Maintenance and preparation for game fields.
• Ensure that students are transported to athletic events by securing bus drivers or serving as the bus driver.
• Works with the principals to resolve conflicts.
• Works with principals in planning and implementing initiatives in athletic programs in general.
• Develop a vision for athletics in Midfield City Schools.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A valid Alabama Professional Educator’s Certification.
• Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
• Applicants must either currently serve as a full-time academic teacher or obtain a full-time academic teacher position within the Midfield City School System.
• Possess a valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Knowledge of Alabama High School Athletic Association Rules and Procedures.
• At least three years of secondary teaching experience.
• Holds a Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
