Job Overview
The Haverford School is searching for an Upper School JV Head Baseball Coach for the 2025 baseball season (Feb 21, 2025 - May 15, 2025). This opportunity is for someone with a passion for coaching and an interest in leading and developing a JV baseball program geared to the developmental needs of high school boys.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing and supervising practices and practice plans, set up and take down equipment, hand out equipment, and assist with drills.
- Lead in-game coaching and team management
- Provide a high quality of moral and ethical leadership to student-athletes.
- Sets a positive example for our students
- Participate in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
- Available to help with van transportation
- Works collaboratively with the Director of the Baseball Program and Director of Athletics
- Possesses an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and the implementation of those principles in independent schools.
- Perform other duties as required.
- B.S. or B.A. Degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of coaching experience.
- Training in and an understanding of all aspects of baseball.
- Ability to lead a high school baseball team.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrates cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions.
- Sense of humor, enthusiasm, high, ethical professional standards, and a multicultural perspective
- Physical Requirements and Work Environment.
- Works in an environment dealing with various challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
