Traders Point Christian Schools is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Varsity Head Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching, a strong understanding of the game, and a commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the field.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate should have previous coaching and/or playing experience.
- Experience in constructing a program from the ground up and knowledge of IHSAA rules and procedures are highly desired.

- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Knowledge of current basketball techniques, rules, and strategies.
- Overseeing and encouraging the spiritual development of student-athletes.
- Proactively communicating with parents and staff in regard to schedules, etc.
- Teaching and coaching the fundamentals of the sport, good sportsmanship, leadership, respect for teachers and adults, fair play, the importance of academics, and relating to and inspiring confidence in students.
- Organizing initial team meetings and establishing team rules, procedures, and policies in writing as approved by the Athletic Director.
- Ensure that student-athletes are compliant and academically eligible
- Abiding by and enforcing TPCA policies on tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.
- Supervising regular practice sessions and games, and is responsible for the conduct of participants at practice, games (before, during, after), and while traveling as a member of the team.
- Supervising athletes until the last student leaves the contest.
