Assistant Coach III, Women’s Basketball

Position Summary
Reporting to the Head Coach, Women’s Basketball, the Assistant Coach assists in the organization, planning, teaching, and coaching of all practices and games.
This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions
Assists in the individual skill development of student-athletes. Provides ongoing oversight of student-athlete’s conduct.
Evaluates, identifies, and recruits quality student-athletes in compliance with University, Atlantic 10 and NCAA regulations and policies.
Assists in creating a competitive non-conference schedule.
Provides assistance in mentoring student-athletes in areas surrounding the power of networking, resourcefulness, and tactics for developing mental fortitude.
Complies with all NCAA, Atlantic 10 and University rules and regulations.
Supervises and coordinates elite basketball camps.
Aids with conflict resolution; provides guidance with negotiating campus processes such as registration, financial aid, and residence life; assists with the development of positive interpersonal relationships, including campus integration with other students and faculty.
Coordinates the recruitment of high-caliber athletes who can succeed in Fordham’s rigorous academic curriculum.
Responsible for conducting weekly meetings with staff about all aspects surrounding recruiting.
Develops creative ideas to help Fordham Women’s Basketball stay ahead of the curve when it comes to recruiting materials and prospect engagement.
Management Responsibilities: Not responsible for supervision or oversight of others.
Additional Functions
Attends fundraising events upon request to support the program.
Operates University-owned or leased vehicles to transport students, staff, and/or equipment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and insurance requirements.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a basketball coach.

High-level organizational skills.
Demonstrated commitment and motivation to build a successful program.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on the staff of an NCAA Division I collegiate women’s basketball program.
Valid driver’s license.
Minimum Starting Salary: $80,400
Maximum Starting Salary: $84,000
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
