Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coordinator

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Assist the Head Cross Country Coordinator in serving as Meet Manager to ensure that officials are in place.
• Assist with creating a system to compile pre-entries into Hy-Tek meet manager and then help to collect entries from the IL schools and visiting schools.
• Help compile results for IL meets on Hy-Tek meet manager and publish them to the coaches, mo.milesplit.us, the KC Star, and other appropriate media outlets.
• Help maintain the Cross Country course at Swope Park by periodically mowing the grass on the 1.5 mile loop, before the first meet, before the league championship, and 2-4 times as needed throughout the season.
• Help take down the finish shoot after each meet and collect boundary flags.
• Ensure that medals procured before meets and are presented at post meet award ceremony.
• Other duties that the athletic department deems necessary and appropriate for the execution of the Cross Country season.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the sport of Cross Country and applicable state and national rules.
• At least 1 year prior knowledge working with Hy-Tek software.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic math and writing skills.
