Assistant Football Coach

South Umpqua High School has an Assistant Football Coach position available. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about mentoring youth and contributing to a positive team culture.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of planning, organizing, and supervising the football program.
• Support the implementation of practice plans, game strategies, and player development.
• Promote good sportsmanship, academic achievement, and team unity.
• Ensure player safety through proper supervision and adherence to safety protocols.
• Attend all practices, games, team meetings, and required training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Prior coaching experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of football techniques, strategies, and player development.
• Must meet all Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) coaching certification requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of injury prevention, athletic conditioning, and skill instruction.
• Experience as a football player at the high school or higher level is desirable.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
