Assistant High School Boys Basketball Coach

Summary
Bethany High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant High School Boys Basketball Coach. This full-time position is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to develop players’ skills, promote teamwork, and instill a strong work ethic both on and off the court.

Responsibilities
– Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practices, game strategies, and training sessions.
– Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
– Provide individual and team instruction in basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
– Monitor student-athlete academic performance and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
– Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and scheduling.
– Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among players.
– Collaborate with other coaching staff, athletic department personnel, and parents to support the overall goals of the program.
– Assist in scouting opponents and analyzing game footage to improve team performance.
– Attend staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
– Uphold the values and mission of Bethany High School and the athletic program at all times.

Requirements

– Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
– Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required by practice and game schedules.
– Must pass a background check and comply with all school and district policies.
– CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
