Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach (10-Month)

Pay: $30,000 per year

Job Summary: The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will
provide overall guidance to the men’s basketball program. Assist
the Head Coach with the day-to-day operations of the program
including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
Identification of potential student-athletes, recruitment of
qualified student-athletes, and maintenance of recruitment
files.
Strategic management of roster size in alignment with program
expectations and departmental enrollment goals.
Oversight and allocation of athletic scholarships/financial aid
within established budget parameters.
Demonstrate an understanding of net tuition revenue (NTR) and
its impact on recruiting, scholarship distribution, and roster
composition.
Work collaboratively with Admissions and Enrollment Management
to support recruiting, yield, and retention strategies.
Organization and coordination of daily practice plans.
Game day preparations, including court set-up and break down,
uniform and equipment preparation, game-plan preparation, warm-up
activities, and game evaluation.
Inventory management of uniforms and equipment and input into
purchasing decisions on new equipment.
Scheduling and travel plans, including the organization of
lodging and meals on road trips, and timely completion of expense
reports.
Monitoring and supervision of student-athletes, to include
athletic activities, academic progress, eligibility concerns and
disciplinary issues.
Coordination of student-athlete community service projects in
conjunction with the NAIA Champions of Character program.
Participation in program and athletic department fund-raising
efforts.
Department assistance with game day management throughout the
year.
Work effectively with students, student-athletes,
administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, officials, and
coaching peers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Prior coaching experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Institution
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from an accredited Institution
Three or more years college coaching experience
Other Requirements: Ability to satisfy, within the
parameters set by the College and consistent with applicable
federal, state and local laws, a criminal background check as a
condition of employment.
Special Requirements (if any):Ability to work a flexible
schedule including evenings and weekends.
