Athletic Director

Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy (ELCA) seeks an outstanding and experienced leader to serve as the school’s next Athletic Director.

ELCA’s athletic program includes 12 varsity sports, as well as opportunities to participate at the JV, middle school, and youth levels across a variety of sports. ELCA participates in the Georgia High School Association and competes at a high-level year after year.

Athletics is an integral part of the educational process and has a significant impact on the lives of students. Our goal is to pursue excellence in athletics while glorifying God and using sports as a tool to teach, coach, disciple, and model Jesus Christ. The result has been many years of competitive success and high levels of student participation.

Position Overview

The Athletic Director serves as the chief administrator of the athletic program and is responsible for providing vision, leadership, and oversight for all areas of ELCA athletics. This position is administrative in nature and is not intended to include coaching responsibilities. This individual will lead and develop a comprehensive athletic program that supports middle school, junior varsity, and varsity athletics while advancing the mission of the school and promoting Kingdom Athletics.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader who supports the mission of the school, builds strong relationships within the school community, and advances the long-term growth and sustainability of the athletic program.

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

4. A visionary leader who can build upon ELCA’s strong tradition of athletic success while developing future opportunities for growth.

5. A collaborative colleague who serves effectively as a member of the school’s administrative team and maintains strong relationships with other GHSA schools and community partners.

6. A relationship-builder who can effectively engage alumni, parents, donors, and supporters in advancing the mission and goals of ELCA Athletics.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with members of the Administrative Team to recruit, hire, mentor, evaluate, and retain outstanding coaches.

2. Provide leadership and oversight for the Athletic Department’s scheduling, budgeting, staffing, facilities, and operational planning in partnership with other school leaders.

3. Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan for ELCA Athletics that effectively reaches students, parents, alumni, and supporters.

4. Lead fundraising and advancement efforts for the Athletic Department in collaboration with the Community Engagement Department, including cultivating relationships with donors, sponsors, alumni, and community supporters to strengthen and grow athletic programs and facilities.

5. Create and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with the GHSA, member schools, school leaders, and other external organizations important to the success of ELCA Athletics.

6. Ensure that ELCA’s athletic policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, updated, and implemented consistently across all levels of the program.

7. Foster strong internal relationships with faculty, staff, parents, booster organizations, and the broader ELCA community.

8. Promote and model a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, discipleship, and Christ-centered leadership throughout the athletic program.

9. Serve as the primary administrator and leader for all athletic operations, while supporting coaches and student-athletes in fulfilling the mission of Kingdom Athletics.

10. Ensure that ELCA athletic facilities, fields, and public areas are maintained at a high standard of excellence.

Reports to:

The Athletic Director reports directly to the Head of School.
