Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is a non-profit ministry dedicated to Educating and Cultivating Servants for Christ. We are a middle and senior high school committed to high academic standards. Our biblically integrated, college-preparatory curriculum is delivered by a dedicated staff of Christian professionals committed to teaching from a biblical worldview and philosophy. We are committed to providing our students with experiences that will foster in them a servant’s heart, including extra-curricular activities, inter-scholastic athletics, music, theater, short-term mission trips, and numerous service opportunities. CVCA aims to create a Christian school community characterized by transforming relationships that produce a lived-out faith in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.

Job Summary
Partnering closely with the school administration, the Athletic Director serves as the strategic vision of CVCA’s athletic program. This leadership role drives every operational pillar – meticulous scheduling, financial management, and the recruitment of high-caliber staff. Beyond administration, the AD acts as a “leader of leaders,” ensuring every coach receives the professional development, evaluation, and mentorship needed to thrive. Committed to excellence, they guarantee that all programs not only meet state standards but also vibrantly reflect the school’s core mission.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure all athletic programs are in line with the athletic mission and support the mission of the schoolRecruit, hire, and develop highly qualified teachers and coachesLead all conflict resolution that may arise between parents, coaches, and/or student-athletes with empathy that reflects our spiritual and professional standards that align with the school’s missionCreate the Athletic Department budget and allocate funds for each sport, including ordering equipment, uniforms, and suppliesOversee the professional development of coaches in supporting them professionally and spirituallyOversee the scheduling of contests and officialsEnsure that all athletic events are fully supported with appropriate game management staffProvide leadership, oversight, evaluation, and professional development over the Athletic Office staffManage marketing for the Athletic Programs in conjunction with the Communications DepartmentAssist in the annual onboarding process for all coachesDevelop, implement, and maintain the Coaches’ Handbook and Athletic HandbookResponsible for full compliance with NCC conference and OHSAA rules and regulationsResponsible representative for all NCC and OHSAA meetings and eventsHelp raise funds to meet the growing athletic needs, including the activation and growth of the Booster ClubOther duties as assigned

About CVCA
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, founded in 1968, is a private, college-preparatory, non-denominational Christian middle and high school that seeks to Educate and Cultivate Servants for Christ. Students meet rigorous admissions standards both academically and spiritually. CVCA’s 1,170 students, of whom 20% represent minority populations, come from a nine-county area. Our facilities include state-of-the-art technology, seven science labs, Innovation Lab, a 31,000 square-foot fieldhouse and competition gymnasium, a 600-seat chapel/auditorium, and 70 acres of sports facilities, including a turf stadium and all-weather track. CVCA is fully committed to maintaining an ethnically/culturally diverse faculty and student body within a biblical community.
