Our client, a prestigious university in **Portland, Oregon, US**, is searching for an exceptional Head Coach to lead their NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer program. This is a senior leadership position responsible for all aspects of the program, including recruitment, player development, team strategy, and budget management. The Head Coach will uphold the university’s commitment to academic excellence, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. Responsibilities include scouting and recruiting top-tier student-athletes, developing and implementing effective training and game strategies, and fostering a positive and competitive team culture. You will manage all assistant coaching staff, provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, and ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university regulations. A proven track record of success at the collegiate level, demonstrating the ability to build and sustain a high-performing program, is essential. Experience in recruiting nationally recognized talent and developing players for professional careers is highly desirable. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive coaching experience in collegiate soccer, with at least 3-5 years as a head coach or associate head coach at the NCAA Division I level, is mandatory. Exceptional leadership, communication, motivational, and organizational skills are critical. The ability to inspire student-athletes academically and athletically, coupled with strong ethical values and a deep understanding of the game, is paramount.
