Head Men’s Basketball Coach

The Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Mount Saint Mary College plays a crucial role in leading and overseeing all aspects of the Men’s Basketball program. This position focuses on the holistic development of student-athletes, ensuring competitive excellence, academic achievement, and personal growth while upholding the department’s commitment to gender equity and inclusive leadership. The Coach is responsible for compliance with NCAA, Skyline Conference, and College regulations while fostering a positive team culture and contributing to the strategic vision of the Athletics Department. Daily tasks include organizing training plans prioritizing student-athlete health and safety, managing practice schedules and team communications, recruiting qualified athletes ethically, maintaining academic eligibility, adhering to budgetary constraints, and developing fundraising initiatives to enhance the student-athlete experience. The Coach collaborates with various college departments, represents MSMC at conferences and NCAA meetings, supervises an assistant coach, and manages equipment and event logistics. Additionally, the Coach must navigate diverse relationships across the campus community and engage in continuous professional development.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• 2-4 years of full-time athletic administration experience with NCAA compliance expertise
• College coaching/recruiting experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated flexibility, professionalism, and high personal integrity
• Ability to work independently, including evenings and weekends
