About the position

Little Rock Athletics is seeking a Head Men’s Basketball Coach who will be responsible for the successful execution in planning, developing, and administering all phases of the men’s basketball program, including recruiting, practice planning, student-athlete development, and full compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University policies. This position requires strong leadership, integrity, and the ability to foster a disciplined and motivating team culture.nnThis position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. university policy.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership, organization, and supervision for all aspects of the men’s basketball programSupervises student-athletes during practices and games, observing and evaluating performance and demonstrating proper techniquesMonitors the academic performance of student-athletes in conjunction with the academic staffRecruit and evaluate high-quality high school and transfer student athletesManages the men’s basketball program within the parameters of the approved operating budget, including athletic scholarships and additional revenue share fundsAssists in fundraising activities as necessary, including but not limited to representing the men’s basketball program at professional meetings, alumni events, and other events as necessaryCultivate and maintain strong relationships with alumni and supportersInterview, supervise, train, and evaluate assistant coaches and other support staff in the performance of their dutiesObserves and promotes an atmosphere of compliance with all NCAA, United Athletic Conference (UAC), and institutional rulesOther duties as assigned by the Director of AthleticsRequirements

A bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of intercollegiate basketball coaching experience is preferred.Expertise in the technical aspects of basketballStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student athletes, alumni, and donorsExtremely organized, self-starter, intrinsically motivatedProven ability to multitask effectivelyAbility to prioritize specific tasks and meet deadlinesProficient computer skills, including the ability to utilize Teamworks platformsAvailability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekendsTravel with sports teams for away contestsThorough knowledge of NCAA and UAC conference rules and regulationsAbility to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid driver’s licenseNice-to-haves

Master’s degree preferredPrevious head coaching experience at the collegiate level
