The Head Women’s Flag Football Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the College’s women’s flag football program while fostering a competitive, inclusive culture that aligns with the institution’s mission and values. This position is responsible for establishing, building, and sustaining a successful program that promotes athletic excellence, academic achievement, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal growth among student-athletes.

Responsibilities include organizing and conducting practices and competitions, recruiting and retaining student-athletes, monitoring academic progress, managing program operations and budgets, fundraising, and ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and governing body policies and regulations.

This is a 10-month, part-time, exempt, with a fixed non-negotiable salary of $15,000.

Position responsibilities include:

Lead the launch and day-to-day operations of a women’s flag football program in its inaugural year, building foundational structure, culture, and expectations for future competitive elevation.
Recruit, develop, and retain student-athletes who align with the mission and values of the institution while fostering a positive team culture.
Plan and conduct practices and competitions, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Provide leadership during all games, including strategy, decision-making, and athlete supervision.
Support student-athletes’ academic progress by maintaining communication with academic support services and encouraging accountability.
Maintain knowledge of and adhere to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules, working in coordination with the Compliance Office.
Collaborate with athletics administration on scheduling, travel planning, and program operations.
Assist with basic recruiting activities, including outreach, evaluations, and communication with prospective student-athletes.
Coordinate with athletic training staff to support student-athlete health and safety.
Work with Sports Information staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting of scores and statistics.
Participate in limited departmental meetings, professional development, and campus engagement activities as appropriate to part-time status.
Assist with game-day operations and team-related administrative tasks as needed.
Represent the program in a professional manner within the campus and local community.
Additional responsibility as assigned or required.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.
A minimum of three years of coaching experience required.
Ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
Ability and willingness to support Dean College’s mission and to collaborate effectively within a team environment within the Athletics & Recreation Department.
Strong commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy.
Demonstrated ability to handle complex and multiple tasks in a professional and efficient manner.
Travel is required for recruiting and attending games.
